Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? I have answers.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes, I am accepting new clients at this time. See the orange “Request an Appointment” button at the bottom of the page.

What times are available for scheduling?

I schedule appointments from 6 PM to 9 PM, Monday to Thursday. Friday & Sunday I schedule appointments from 9 AM to 5 PM. I am closed on Saturday.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, currently I accept United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Wellmark of SD, and BCBS of Massachusetts. Additionally, if I am out of network, I am willing to submit out of network claims for you through a company called, Mentaya.

Mentaya is a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year.

What modes of therapy are available?

I offer tele-therapy sessions and phone sessions.

Who is your ideal client?

I specialize in trauma therapy and love working with neurodivergent and/or LGBTQ+ clients. Regardless, if you are ready to work on your trauma and take back control in your life, we would be a great fit!

What types of therapy treatments do you use?

I will work collaboratively with you to decide which treatment fits best. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.

Can you write me a letter or fill out FMLA paperwork for me?

I am willing and able to evaluate and write letters for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and/or Gender Affirming Sugeries that can be submitted to your doctors or insurance.

Sometimes, I am able to write other types of letters or fill out FMLA, however, I am only willing to do this with clients I have been seeing for at least 3 months.

I’m nervous to start therapy. Any suggestions?

That is completely understandable! Starting therapy with a new provider can be overwhelming. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute consultation to get any additional questions answered and gauge if I would be a good fit as a therapist for you 🙂
